Paulinian finishes Intramuros 5K run

A Fourth Year Paulinian was among the more than a hundred finishers of the 5-kilometer Great Walled City Run 2014 in Intramuros, Manila on September 7, 2014.

Amery D. Venci, IV – St. Dominic, gained a finisher medal after completing the 5-K course around the Walled City in 29 minutes and 17 seconds.

The running event was one of the major activities of the Knights of Columbus Fraternal Association of the Philippines, Inc. (KCFAPI) in partnership with RG Events Co., as it celebrated its 56th Year of existence.

Aside from the medal that Venci got, she was also given Dri-Fit Singlet, Race Bib Package, and sponsor’s Freebies. The registration fee was P500.00 which the KFCFAPI allotted to benefit survivors in areas devastated by natural calamities like typhoon Yolanda.

CBCPNews.com announced that “inspired by KC Philippines founder Fr. George J. Willmann, SJ’s charity and care for the most needy, the proceeds of this event will support the charitable activities of two foundations – KC Philippines Foundation, Inc. and KC Fr. George J. Willmann Charities, Inc.”

“I saw the event in the Internet,” Venci bared, “I ran because the medal inspired me while I could also be of help.”

“My mother and my sister, Patricia, joined me. It started at 6:30 a.m.,” Venci recalled.
