Bishop Oliveros inducts GS, HS PFC Officers

Malolos Bishop Most Rev. Jose F. Oiveros, D.D. officiates the First Friday Mass of September where the PFC GS and HS Officers were inducted.
PFC Officers of both GS and HS Departments recite their Oath of Office before the altar during the September First Friday Mass officiated by Most Rev. Jose F. Oliveros, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Malolos, September 5, 2014.

Most Rev. Jose F. Oliveros, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Malolos, installed and inducted into office the new sets of Paulinian Family Circle (PFC) officers, both of the Grade School and High School Departments during the First Friday Mass, which the bishop himself officiated at St. Paul College of Bocaue, September 5, 2014.

The PFC is the equivalent of the traditional Parents’ Teachers’ Associations of most schools.

Before the end of the Mass, Bishop Oliveros asked all the PFC Officers to proceed in front as they raised their right hands in pledge before the altar. The officers were installed en masse as the Bishop also gave his apostolic blessing after their induction.

“I know hand in hand, we shall achieve coordination and discernment in all our activities to improve our Paulinian community,” Mrs. Jocelyn O. Sulit, PFC GS Vice Chairman in behalf of Mrs. Consolacion Santos, PFC GS President, said in her speech during the awarding program of the out-going officers.

She likewise expressed her gratitude to the parents and the SPCB academic community. “Thank you for all your support and hopefully we may live up to all your expectations,” she said.

Meanwhile, PFC HS President, Mrs. Sheilla Marie SM. Cruz expressed her apprehensions before delivering her speech.

“When I was told that I will be delivering a speech, my first question is what will I say. Paano ba yun? And then I realized, if this is the first time that this will be done, narealize ko that this must be part of the planned… to have changes, hindi lang sa mga students, as well as the parents for us to have improvement. So I am taking the challenge now,” she said.

“I look forward to see and to work together to uplift the standards of teaching and make our children more competent,” she declared.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who believes in me. What I can say is that I may not be able to serve and please everyone, but I am committed to do all the things possible for the welfare of our children.”

Out-going PFC HS President, Engr. Annabelle M. Roldan expressed her gratitude for the support given to her during her one-year leadership in the PFC HS.

“Allow me to thank all my officers for their wholehearted support they have showered me during my entire year as President. Though it is only one year, I am happy to be a part of this family together with all the sisters, teachers, parents, staff, and students,” she said.

“I would like to express my warmest congratulations to the new set of PFC High School Officers headed by our Chairman, Mrs. Sheilla Marie Cruz. I am certain that your competence and able leadership will strengthen our commitment to be of help to our school, St. Paul College of Bocaue,” Engr. Roldan told the new President.

She rallied the parents and teachers to “join hands to achieve our goal for the betterment of our school and our children.”

“No task is difficult if everyone will extend his hand to reach our goal,” she encouraged.

“To Sr. Remy, it may be too short but I enjoyed working with you and my pleasure of knowing you. To my children for being my joy, my life, and inspiration to everything I do, thank you,” she said emotionally.
She also expressed her gratitude to the Lord for the guidance and wisdom to accomplish and fulfill her duties.

“Thank you St. Paul College of Bocaue,” she said, “and as I had always been saying St. Paul College of Bocaue will always be in my heart.”

School Directress and HS Principal, Sr. Maria Remedios R. Cayetano, SPC expressed her thanks to the PFC Officers. “I thank God for you, my dear parents, for accepting which I would say mission of leadership,” she said in her message.

“Anything that is done out of love, no matter how ordinary it is, becomes extraordinary,” she quoted Mother Theresa’s one famous line. “Lahat ng ginagawa, kahit gaano ito ka-simple, ‘pag ginawa mo ito nang may pagmamahal, ito ay nagiging extraordinary,” she translated.

Sr. Remedios illustrated that it is not coincidental but that “We are gathered according to God’s providential circumstances. Maybe we are going to shape one another, we are going to journey together, even the teachers who are with us, the students who are with us, we are gathered according to God’s providential plan.”

“And so if we give in to God’s plan working in us and led by the Spirit, then I’m sure together we can brave through the tide and the rains of this school year. And I am looking forward to a fruitful year working with you. Ngayon pa lang natutuwa na ako sa support na ipinakita niyo sa akin in my third month here at St. Paul College of Bocaue,” Sr. Remedios said.

“And together with the Sisters, we are serving through, hopefully, according to Kotter,” she said, referring to the change management specialist John Kotter of Harvard Business School and New York Times best-selling author.

“Create a sense of urgency is the first step, and the second step is create a coalition team, and you are a coalition team,” Sr. Remedios mentioned. “This is networking. And networking and partnership is one premise of change management.”

She mentioned that St. Paul College of Bocaue now is creating a lot of change management. “Change management not only the changes in the administration but how are we going to reinvent St. Paul College of Bocaue to brace the 21st Century teaching and learning,” she bared.

“Thank you for the sharing of yourselves, your generosity, the sharing of your family, and especially your dedication and commitment,” she extolled the newly inducted PFC Officers.
