NCAE moved to October 7

The National Career Assessment Examinations (NCAE) for Grade 9 originally scheduled on August 27, 2014 has been re-scheduled to October 7, 2014 as announced by the Department of Education in DepED Memorandum No. 78 s. 2014.

Section 1 of the memorandum reads, "The Department of Education (DepED), through the National Education Testing and Research Center (NETRC), with the assistance of schools divisions, public and private secondary school personnel, shall administer the 2014 National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE) for Grade 9 Students in all public high schools and private secondary schools with DepED permit to operate. Instead of August 27, 2014 as indicated in Enclosure No. 1 of DepED Order No. 18 s. 2014 entitled School Calendar for School Year (SY) 2014-2015, the examination will be administered on October 7, 2014."

The NCAE determines the aptitudes and skills of the students and recommends career paths where the students could excel in. The coverage of the examination includes Scientific Ability, Mathematical Ability, Reading Comprehension, Verbal Ability, Logical Reasoning, Manipulative Skills, Clerical Ability, Non-Verbal Ability, and Entrepreneurial skills.

The school usually prepares the students by conducting mock tests to familiarize them with the the answer sheet, types of test items, time allotted for each sub-test, and how the examination is conducted during the actual NCAE.
