St. Paul College of Bocaue participated in the Sagip Kalikasan Project – Tree Planting Program of the Municipality of Bocaue yesterday, September 10, 2014 at the Shangri-la Road, Igulot, Bocaue, Bulacan.

A number of CAT and High School Board of Students officers proceeded to the venue before 9:00 a.m. to join the other schools and barangays which were also invited to the said tree planting program.

Municipal Administrator Atty. Virginia S. Jose wrote a letter of invitation to all schools informing them of the project.

"Ang Pamahalaang Bayan ng Bocaue ay nakatakdang isagawa ang 'Sagip Kalikasan Project,' isang Tree Planting Program na naglalayong mabuklod at mapagkaisa ang mga mamamayan ukol sa pangangalaga sa kapaligiran at kalikasan," the letter said.

HSBS President, Ravien P. Gumatay, together with Mr. Joselito B. Hernandez, the Clubs and Organizations Chair and HSBS Moderator, led the Paulinians during the tree planting activity despite the heavy downpour. CAT Corps Commander, Janssen Melvin DC. Valerio, led the CAT Officers with Mr. Dexter P. Feliciano, the CAT Commandant.

Along with the participating schools I.S. Montessori and Sto. Niño Academy, together with the Barangays of Duhat, Manggahan, Igulot and Lolomboy, the Sagip Kalikasan Project reached its goal of planting mahogany, narra, and African tulip trees.

Though drenched in rain, the Paulinians said they enjoyed the activity knowing that they were able to plant trees that will eventually become part of nature's assets for a sound environment.
