School conducts Parents’ Orientation

To formally welcome the parents for SY 2012-2013 and familiarize them with the school’s Vision-Mission, academic matters, and other programs of the school, St. Paul College of Bocaue conducted a Parents’ Orientation Program last June 23, 2012 at the Fr. Louis Chauvet Gymnasium.

Sr. Bernadette Racadio, SPC, the School Directress and High School Principal, introduced the members of the administration and at the same time presented the Vision-Mission of the school. Using a PowerPoint Presentation, she showed to the parents how the home and the school should collaborate with one another in the educational formation of the children.
Sr. Bernadette Racadio, SPC, the Directress and High School Principal, addresses the Parents and Teachers during the orientation.
“The home provides basic training, basic discipline, basic love, care, trust, and values,” she explained. “The school follows up the home training and values formation,” she added. The school gives added information and facilitates good habit and values formation, she said.

Faculty and Parents stand for a moment of silence and reflection.
Sr. Bernadette showed five major areas which are related to one another for the wholistic formation of the students. These are the Academics, Christian Formation, Co-Curricular Activities, Homeroom and Guidance, and Community Extension. With all the programs of these five areas which are guided by the Vision-Mission of the school, the Paulinian, who is the final product of the school, is hoped to be Christ-centered, academically equipped, and socially responsible.

The Paulinian, she said, is someone who is pious, compassionate, charitable, community-caring, simple and humble, faithful, studious, hardworking, zealous and daring. The thrusts of the school, she said, are academic preparedness, moral sensitivity, and social responsibility, which includes community and environment care.

She further explained that the school has adopted four general strategies to ensure that it offers quality education – relevant, student centered curricular programs and services, innovative human resources, productive networking with the Church, and collaborative management services.

Meanwhile, the orientation on Academic Matters, Co- and Extra- Curricular Activities and Clubs and Organizations, Christian Formation, Homeroom and the Student Welfare Committee, and the K to 12 Enhanced Basic Education Curriculum were done in multimedia format where parents simply watched the videos prepared by the heads concerned.

The brief history of the school was likewise shown on video.

The members of Faculty, Staff, Maintenance, and Personnel were introduced by the various members of the Principal’s Council, both in Grade School and High School.

The parents chose their representatives during the consultive meeting of the Paulinian Family Circle after the orientation.
